It can be difficult for kids to accept a child into their social circle that is different in some way if they are do not come into contact with differently-abled children until they are older and this is why introducing kids to other children at summer camp who might have things like Apraxia or issues that cause a child to speak differently is a good thing while a child is still young. Studies have shown that including children of all abilities in classrooms can be extremely healthy for all children no matter their abilities and the same is true at camp.
